Spare Parts investigates how medical science interferes with the relationship we have with our own bodies and eachother. The emerging technology of cloning and genetic manipulation have great potential to create humans specifically for particular purposes. Currently, some biotechnologists are working towards creating headless animals, such as the headless chicken, which is fed through tubes directly down the gullet, and solves battery chicken farmer's problems of chickens pecking eachother to near death. This technology is hoped by some in the science community to be applied to humans, so that humans can be bred for organ parts. With no face and no mind, are they still human?
